front fender mix and mash

i have a 92 z28, and an 86 berlinetta. the fenders on the z are beat to crap, and the berlinetta is relitivly mint in the front fenders. would it be worth mounting the 86 fenders on the z and making mounting locations for the ground effects? or should i just shell out the 300 for a new set of fenders for the z.

anyone done this before and have tips or run into massive problems? cause other then the trim on the outside which im getting rid of anyways. the fenders look like there the same body lines.

Fenders are basically the same except for the ground effect holes. If the other fenders are in good shape (and you are sure there are no hidden issues) there should be no real issues.

I put new fenders on my 89 a while back. ( the orig 1s had a crease where some clown used a ratched strap across the front and kinked both)
Anyhow they were new aftermarket, fit fine and all but still had to drill the holes for the gfx to mount. so either way id bet you will wind up drilling so just bolt up the ones you have if it were me.
Wasnt a big deal to drill the holes, actually i just used a dremel with the cut off wheel attachment. So they would be slotted horizontally and that mounting bracket with the studs for the spoiler fits fine.

Far as where the rocker panel gfx goes just line it up and shoot the screws in it they self tap.

If you take off your gfx you will see instantly that the fenders are the same design completely, just one has holes in it already. Its already been stated, but you can tell pretty easily once you get the gfx off if that eases your mind a little.
