digital guage question this time

is anyone using the aftermarket digital guages? how do you like them? are they direct bolt-ins or will i have to swith from mechanically to electronically controlled on my 87 iroc? tia...

I've had two. I love them. They're a bit of a b*tch to install. You don't have to switch anything on your car as long as you already have factory gauges (in other words not the idiot lights only dash) as they use the factory senders, except in the case of the Intellitronix dash where you have to use the water temp sender they provide (you'll have to buy an adapter from a hardware store). Also the speedometer can tap into the car's stock VSS for a speed signal, but it's a better idea to buy their seperate speed sender and use it instead, since it puts out 8000 pulses per mile instead of the stock 2000 ppm, so you get faster readings.
