I'm a BIG fan of T-tops. I mean, for me they practically define the F-body muscle car image. I know that the 1st gens didn't have it, but oh so sweet 2nd gens with T-tops (Think Mountain Dew commercial with 2nd gen doing a barrel roll). As far as I know, the F-body is one of the most well known cars for T-tops. Talk to an enthusienst and ask him what car comes to mind when you mention "T-tops".

My own T-tops are C&C T-tops. If found out thats both good and bad. The C&C tops aren't as well adjusted, so you can't tighten them down. However the water channels are better than factory T's. You can avoid many more leaks that way. I've fixed my leaks now, at only a small amount of water will come into the passenger side when water from a hose is directed at the T top.

As far as the summer went, I had my T-tops out every day it wasn't raining. If I was driving they were off. I did tend to put them on when the weather started to get a little chilly at night.

I love my t-tops, they dont rattle, but they do leak. I dont really care though. Nothing is more fun then cruising with them off down the Gratiot or Woodward strip at night with a girl in the passenger seat. They are off everyday unless its raining or below 55 degrees. At night if it gets chilly, on goes the heater! I cant get enough of driving with them off.

Love em! I have had the car for three years... as soon as summer hits and there is no rain, the car gets waxed and the tops come off. They stay off for as long as possible until rain hits... then I run my *** out to the car and put them back on. it was a bitch this year though... it was constantly raining.

I would not have bought my Camaro if it wasn't for the T-Tops. I just love them, and Its very easy to get shades, as for the baking interior post

Love them have 3 camaros all 3 have T-tops.
We also have a Corvette with a Glass top & a GTP with a sun roof.

The only thing that we have one the place that dont have glass over the head is the truck.

After three convertibles, two with removeable moonroofs, and many many cars with fixed roof..................I love my T-Tops!!!! Mine don't leak or rattle....and the lexan is dark enough that the sun doesn't bother me at all. Hell, I take mine off in anything above 45 deg..

Plus, t-tops screams f-body and perfomance Not to mention the babe factor

hehe. ya I like the t tops. It makes the car look better, and in the summer its great to be able to take the top off your car. So what if it gets a little hot, if its too hot take em off and go for a spin. Mine do rattle. But dont leak. I get a tiny amount of water inside but its far away from my seat. It leaks more on the back seat more then anything, and only for a few seconds once in a blue moon. Long live the t top cars!

I love how passengers become transfixed when it's raining, staring at it hitting the glass over their head

Love the T's

I love my T-Tops. When I first got my car I drove around with the tops out. It was a little chilly but hey I looked good with them out. I have only taken one road trip with them out and ended up with a funny looking suntan. I drove to Cincinnati with them out and my left arm was tan and my right arm didn't get any sun. It was nice to feel the wind. I have a problem though. My headliner sags really badly so I don't take the tops out any more. They leak and I think that is what is causing the headliner to sag. So the weatherstriping will be replaced along with the headliner.

My old 84 Z had t-tops....and I loved them!...now, my new 91 Z dosen't.....but it's great to have the power/torque from the L98. When I first got my 91....it almost felt like the top was smashing down on me...like I was sufficating....haha...because there were no t-tops..whenever it was nice out...the tops would be off in my 84

love em. and I agree with what Badbowtie said about building upan F body and keeping the T-Tops. Get the similar effect of a convertible without the motor or worry of someone cutting your top uo to get in your car. Hate when they leak but I can live with that since they look so good.

If you dont have T-tops you just have an old car like everyone else! With the Tees off you have a sports car. The converts are hard to find or I would have on of them but im on my 2nd with tees and will never get a car with a roof if i can help it! Had lexan now glass Its better never had much issue with leaks as long as i close the doors tight. As for a place to put them if you have lexan just toss them in the back seat, I could do both sides in 20 sac. at a stop light!

I also have t-tops. I enjoy riding around with them out. It seems like a total different car. Mine leak around the top of the side windows a little but not enough to hurt anything (alot of that probably comes from worn out weather stripping). My dash and doors rattle but not because of t-tops. I would have an IROC-Z with or without t-tops. I just like the way they handle and drive period.

t tops

my t tops rattle squeek and do all kinds of funky stuff, but when i take them, no one car looks sportier than an f-body with t tops, it just looks mean! also does any body know if re-tinting the t tops is an option?--jorge

yup i love my t-tops. hate verts though....they look incredible with the top down but they're just hideous with the soft top up (especially tan, ugh). only way i'd ever have a vert is if it had a retractable hardtop
anyway, mine have never leaked or rattled, but i'm waiting to replace my headliner before i drive with them off again. (tried it once and there was like a cloud of particles that would break off the headliner board and fly in my eyes. i had to actually pull over once cause i couldn't see ****, i dont know how i stopped on the shoulder without hitting a car or the gaurdrail!)

Love my T's.

Anyway, this thread was started almost 3 years ago. Since it does not contain tech-related material, I must let it die.

Not trying to be a lock ****, but we must follow the rules.
