fix for odometer
fix for odometer
The tripometer thingy does not work in my '88 camaro, the odometer works though. I called a local place for a fix but they want $192 to fix it. OUCH !! Anybody have a similar problem and know whats up? If I play around w/ the trip reset button it will work for 1 revolution 0-9 but than it gets hung up on 0 again? Any suggestions?

Take the gauge out of the car. That way you can see whats going on. The assembly might just have come apart a bit and its binding. I have a couple of extra clusters lying around. If there is anything broken i might be able to help you out. Just email me

My guess is that the two plastic (read weak as hell) hooks that hold the odometer roll in place have broken. The problem is quite common.
