Weird Power Window problem

My Drivers side power window gets stuck ONLY when I roll the window all the way up. I can roll the window to within a tiny fraction of an inch up (to the point where it is even fully sealed with the rubber molding along the door jam) and it will roll back down just fine. I can roll it up and down all I want as long as I don't roll it up till it stops on it's own. When I do that, I have a difficult time getting it to roll back down. Usually consists of holding the button down while driving until it just starts rolling down. This take anywhere from 10-20 seconds up to several minutes. But at some point the window will just start rolling down, and will work fine unless I roll it all the way back up. I have brand new power window controls cause the old ones were problematic. Now I'm having this new problem and I have no idea what it could be.

I had this prob in my 84 Z28. I put in a new switch thinking that it was faulty but it turned out to be a bad connection on the motor. I would pound on the door or hit a good bump and all of a sudden it would work fine. That is the best I can come up with.

Sounds like the problem I was having with my windows. At first they would get stuck when they were either all the way up or down. The weird part was that they would work fine after sitting for awhile. Eventually they just stopped working completely. As I understand it, when the motors get worn out, they trip an internal breaker which causes the intermittent operation. Or it could just be a bad connection like purpleworm said. I'd take the door panel off and wiggle the connection to the motor while holding the switch down. Good luck.
