Re: honest opinions on this hatch
I don't like it. It's kinda neat, but too busy IMO. The stock notchback hatch is the only other hatch I like besides stock. It's your car and your part so really it's up to you.

Re: honest opinions on this hatch
i like the look of it. kinda looks like the hatch that was on the camaro canteras
Re: honest opinions on this hatch
Does look like a Fiero hatch. That's the reason I do like it. I would blend in the louvers to lose the "frame" around them, so they don't look added-on, but more like part of the design.
I would put it on my car.
Don't like the spoiler with it, tho.
Would look good with a targa top conversion (just sayin')

Bad/ugly.
It's interesting, but only because it's rare. Just makes it look like the car is mid-engine at the sacrifice of all your rear storage space.

Don't like any othe notchbacks even the factory one, personally.
That one reminds me of those 'kits' to make cheap cars look like ferrrari/s or lambos.

It dose need some work ...the wing dose not go with the hatch...but I like it...
Re: honest opinions on this hatch
Hatches of that sort were available from Chevy on new cars in the 84-85 time frame. Those of that era were produced by Contempo Conversions and perhaps others. Looks good because it's unusual, BUT my experience has been that they don't fit right and ditch that tuner spoiler.

I like original components on old cars unless they are salvage - in which case I recommend fins and flames, with lots of LED's.

I think I like it. Remove the old spoiler of course. Prob would look best if you had extractors in your hood or fenders as well.

Re: honest opinions on this hatch
It's neat. +1 for being different. I think if it were fixed (looks like the glass is missing), the spoiler holes were filled, painted it'd be ok. I'm not a fan of the spoiler that's currently in it.
This looks like it belongs on something with a low suspension. With the jacked up back end it kind of looks like a spaceship.
I say roll with it if you like it.

I liked these when they first came out (yes- I can remember that far back).I still think they look good. IMO, I think it would look better with the
original spoiler, not the wing.

Re: honest opinions on this hatch
this hatch never had a spoiler mtd to it , the firebird spoiler is just sitting on it. to see how it looked . what would everyone think of the three pc spoiler (oriiginal)?

Re: honest opinions on this hatch
3 piece would look better, but I think something like the 2000 Cobra R spoiler would look perfect. The hatch is eye-catching, so go with an outrageous (but aerodynamically useful) wing.

I think these are way better looking than the ugly factory notchback.

If you want your F-body to look like an el camino, get one of those. Yours looks more like a Ferrari/Fiero/MR2, which is far more visually appealing to me.

NEGATIVE. The only way it could poosibly look good is if you where going for a MadMax look or theme to the car but other then that its ugly

Re: honest opinions on this hatch
I appreciate every ones honesty looks like I ll be going with the stock hatch , just want it to stand out . but not in a bad way. I've got c-5 wagon wheels off a vette with about 100 miles on the rims and original tires . they sat in a garage since 1987 .also 4th gen rear 3.42 ausi with discs from a 98 (vette breaks) 92 chin with 1990 side effects . metalic blue . ANY SERIOUS IDEAS on the good kind of stand out? I have louvers and blisters which should I use?

Sorry to here you're not going with that hatch, I think it look good, Maybe mold in the side vents and add a second gen rear spoiler to it, I'd love to have this for my Trans Am.

Re: honest opinions on this hatch
Close but no cigar.. Camaro never come out with a spoiler like that.. The 91RS had somewhat a spoiler but it was totally different.. All other camaro's had rear deck spoiler that were body formed which was real defined by the 2nd Gen Z28 and then reduced in the 84 Z28. Starting in 87 the 3rd brake light was introduced in the spoiler. This was only a pontiac designed wing..

Too bad....I'd use it and keep a stock hatch too. I think if you put a smaller spoiler on it, and it was painted body color it would look much better....and different. Not in a bad way either.

I do agree with you.. It's just me and I don't think they look like the firebirds or fiero's wing. Maybe I'm just picky... LOL

I think I have seen it beforr (style) ima try to find it...it was aftermarket, c-something. Anyway, I like it. Expecially if your looking to do a different styling, but the die hards n true camaro fans wont like itcause the notchs wete more firebird back then anyway...but I do agree, needs lil work to get that facyory (look like it belongs look).
But its cool, I rock it!

Re: honest opinions on this hatch
I can say that I am still confused as to whether I like this one or not.. I do like it better than the one in the beginning of this thread that dads old blue 9 displayed. It looks alot better after it is painted. That I think the wide body fenders could have had some painting to match the car better. This is a cool looking car overall as not everyone own's one.
