Firebird dash, camaro gauge cluster?

Ok gang, here's the deal. I need to condense all of my gauges so that it frees up the space that is now occupied by the two large gauges on the right (gas, temp, etc..)

Has anyone attempted to put the camaro gauge cluster into a firebird and would this work?

I know that the firebird gauges only connection is the two plugs on the right side of the cluster, but that can be relocated if need be. There seem to be no other connections into the stock gauge pod of the Firebird so I don't know if/how the camaro cluster would setup.

Any help would be great.
Thanks

I think the only way to make it look good would be to swap in a camaro dash. You could always make a plate and put in autometer gauges however you want them.

Gauge clusters are different. The Firebird is longer.

Umm, ok I'm asking about mechanical and connection wise.

I am refabricating the whole dash front and it would be easier for me to build off of an existing gauge arrangement than have to fabricate one completely from scratch.

I understand the cosmetic issues, I just need to know if the mechanical portion is the same.

Thanks.
