Water in car......where did it come from??

Ok i have an 88 firebird w/ t-tops. I have been having this problem for a good while. Sometimes when it rains the sunvisors and seats will be soaking wet (just the part you sit on). The floor will be bone dry. Also the back seat will get soaked sometimes. I have checked all the seals and siliconed every where and it still happens. I even poured water on the car for 30 min and i never got water in it. Where is the water getting in at?? Sometimes when it pours hard it won't get wet inside and it will w/ small shower. WTF?? And only the seat bottoms and sun visors. Nothing else not even the dash board or console.

Have you noticed if the car is parked on level ground or not when it gets wet? Try the test with your car parked at different angles, such as front end a little higher, (like most driveways are pitched). Even if you see it drip from somewhere, don't assume that's where the water is coming in. I had a Z-24 that would get soaked behind the drivers seat. We found a rust hole in the cowl (just under the vents) that let water in. It ran down some wire conduit tucked under the door sill and came out onto the carpet. Not a drop in the front!

Yes, my IROC witha blown 305 is sitting there and we had a major rain storm, first the water came in between the seals and frame, re glued the seals and put black silicone there, now it leakes at the T-Top bar thing, I covered everywhere I could with the stuff now, it seems that water gets into that channel in the seals on the passenger side and because it is on angle leaing towards the driver side water sits in there and filters down in some hole on top and come out on the drivers side in a hole in the frame. I just siliconed all under the T-bar and espically where the H20 sits. Now I will wat untill is rains again and let my interior get wet again b/c it did not work and GM are morons b/c with all the money they have the could not design a system that works......
