Front Fenders and GFX.
So after I changed my oil today I decided I would do what I could to fix my fender gfx. Long story short the front nose is cracked underneath to hell and back and the fender gfx are pretty shot as well. I was wondering what would be involved to completely remove the gfx aside from new front/rear bumper covers. I like the look of birds without the gfx anyway.
More importantly is a fender issue I have. Measuring off level ground and using my front wheels as centerlines, to the center of the fender lip, my driver's side is an inch higher than the passenger side. I know the car was backed into on the front passenger side, the nose is scraped down to the base and the top of the fender close to the headlights got rolled down a hair. I feel pretty sure that it's not the actual body as I measured door lines and the rear fender lips and they were within 1/8th of an inch. The only thing that worries me is the driver's side fender isn't any higher than the hood
... I have been under the car a good amount and don't see any frame damage. I work in commercial HVAC and have pretty good skills with working sheet metal so I feel fairly confident I can straighten everything out, but could someone who has a straight body/fenders tell me what measurements they have to the center of the fender lip? I know what springs I have so I can just deduct the drop from your measurement and have a ballpark on what it should be. Maybe I'm just wigging out and it's just that my shocks are shot. The car does ride like a log but I ascribed that to drop springs and 1985 suspension technology
Finally, to remove the fenders I just have to take the bolts out inside the hood and under the car and the fender should come off, correct? Or are there other bolts, like behind the wheel well plastic?
