Dash, kicker panels, and side panels

I have just torn into my interior and have a few Q's about the vynl and plastic:

-(On a budget) What can I do about the cracks in my dash, without replacing it?
-Can I sand out the scratches in the panel in the rear?
-And anyone have any tips on painting the panels?

There isn't really much you can do except to replace the parts. For the dash pad you may want to try some kind of black expoxy or even black silicone--it'll cover-or fill-the cracks--it'll look like a$$ tho. If you sand out the scratches in the rear panel you'll take out that grain that it has to it, so you might want to think about that.
sorry I can't help about painting the panels--never did that. What color is your interior?

I'd sand down those pieces to get that crumbly layer off, then carpet over it with carpet that matches the interior. Make it look like the deluxe interior option. That's about the best budget-minded thing I can think of that would still look good.

For the dash, you'd just have to find one in a junkyard, but be ready to search for a looooong time. Found mine for $40.

My interior is gray but I am painting the back panels green to match the paint. I dont mind losing the grain in the back, but I heard you can take in your cracked dash in to a repair shop, an he patches it up.

Any tips on taking the dash out?

I've never heard of repairing a dash-but it's really easy to take out. at the top of the dash, in where the defrost for the windshield is-there's 4 screws-take them out then look underneath-where the face of the gage cluster is-above where the steering wheel is-there's some screws up along there-just pull them out lift the dash pad up and out--very easy! If anything is unclear let me know and I'll try to explain a little better.
