T top complete removal

T top complete removal

Well the title says it all. I've got an 86 iroc z and I've hot a guy wanting the body to make a dirt at out of and I'm taking the t tips off before he buys it and I want the center bar as well. How hard is that to get off?

You need to pry the t-top weatherstripping up to reach 4 more screws (2 up front, 2 on the rear end of the bar). Loosen them and the rest of the visible screws (3 on each side I think) and you'll be able to wiggle it up and off.
The necessary force depends on how much sealant has been put under it.

Well ok they are completely original and don't leak so it shouldn't be to hard. They just haven't been ou in 20 years

If the t-top bar is not rusted, it shouldn't be too difficult. Just follow the steps above. If it is rusted, plan on it being somewhat of a pain and coming off in multiple pieces.

Put your screwdriver in place and give it a whack,this will allow you to remove the screws without rounding the screw heads.

I took mine ...it was a pain in the @ss...mine was rusted, and it didn't come out nice... I had all new metal put in..I have pics on my profile. ..but if you are selling the car, why do you want the T-bar ???
I can understand the tops...

Well bigkeg my plan was to remove incase some one wanted to do a t top conversion. I want to save everything on this car before I scrap it. I'm honestly debating just cutting it off at the fenders so it would be a complete swap over. Just got new keys cut for the tops yesterday so that they are removable now
