Junkyards in NY

Anyone now any junkyards where they allow you to pull stuff yourself. Also interested in some that are in PA and NJ but that are not too far away.

There is a junk yard in Ridgefield Park in New Jersey called Apache Junkers or Apache Junk Yard. I haven't been there in a while, but as I remember you could pull stuff yourself. I could get you directions if you want.

Yeah Lakewood is actually in Lindenhurst, on Rte 109. About 1/2 mile east of Southern State Parkway.
From SS east, exit 33 (Rte 109). From SS west, get off at exit 34 (New Highway). Make a left at the light, go over the parkway. Make a left at the light (Rte 109).

Lakewood will be on your right.

Also there are many junk yards in the Lindenhurst village, but I haben't used them so I don't know if you pick yourself.

Yea, the one in Lindenhurst is great. Also, in Deer Park right on Long Island Ave. there are a lot of junk yards. There are about 4 in a row. Sometimes they have some good stuff. I found a center piece from a GTA for only $10. They did have a camaro with t-tops and good gfx for sale...it ran....for only $400. It was a decent car and would be great for parts. Does anybody know where to get a wrap around aero spoiler in NY? I need one from a junkyard. I am looking for one and I may buy the hatch along with it. I am really interested in the '91-'92 style spoilers. O yea, look out for some of the prices around the junk yards. They overcharge on some things on Long Island Ave(it is off of Deer Park Ave.). I was about to buy the gray and black Z28 seats and they said $300...i thought that was a good price until they said that was just for the front seats. They wanted to sell me the set for $500. Also they had a set of mint black seats from an '87 TA. I really wanted them, but I came back a week too late. They were $200 for the set.

Too bad there is one here in Alabama that has a whole bunch of thirdgens, and they let you pull stuff yourself.

Hey Jims83TA and Mikes86SC, can you post some names and maybe some phone numbers to the JY you posted. Want to make some trips this week. And Jim85IROC, thanks for your info but I live at the begining of 87. My exit number 8. That would be a big trip, but the info still maybe useful.

Well if you know where Fort Payne is its about 20 miles north of it. Its a place Called Mathis Salvage. It's probably not as big as alot of junkyards but Im guessing there are about 700 cars. I don't really know all what he has but I know he has quite a few third gens. If you wanna call him and ask him about them his name is Skippy and his number is 256-635-6169. Where about in Alabama do you live?

Big Russellville, about 15-20 miles south of Muscle Shoals maybe you've heard of that.

Gee you must be right on the ocean. I don't think you would wanna come all the way up here (35 miles south of Chattanooga), to go to a junkyard. Oh well I guess it was worth a try.
