Well it depends on if your trying to roll the entire edge up, or just get rid of the "sharp edge" as you said.
As far as getting rid of the sharp edge, the best way is to cut slits about 1 1/2" apart and maybe (actually at least) 3/8" deep. Then use a pair of vise grips to bend the metal up and over about 120 deg. Then clamp it down over to 180 deg. That is called a hem.
If you wanted to totally get rid of the inner edge, do the same thing, but make your slits go all the way to the quarter panel. Then bend them all the way up into a 90 deg angle. I'm not sure you could do that without messing up the paint.
