I'm considering spoiler options while having my 88 GTA torn down, stripped, and repainted. Are the holes in the deck lid for mounting the spoiler the same for the wraparound spoiler compared to the flat wing type used in earlier years and the same as the ones used on 4th gen wings? Specifically are they at the same place on the deck lid.

 

I'm pretty sure they're different for every style of spoiler. Ran into this problem trying to replace the hatch on my '91 T/A after an 18 wheeler backed into it and dented it. Mounting locations will be different, so plan on doing some drilling and bondo-ing if you want to change it. Or you could just get a base model Firebird 1987-92 hatch if you want the 1982-84 style T/A spoiler, should be an easy one to find.

I assume you'll have to do some fabrication to get a 1993-02 spoiler to fit no matter which hatch you use.
