Just FYI, the fiberglass ones that are available, do not allow for glass windows (lexan only) and do not allow for our window regulators (lexan windows are slide or fixed only) and offer ZERO protection in a side impact crash. However, they are available from Harwood, Fiberglass trends, US Auto Body.

I wouldn't change my doors. Now that is asking for trouble. In a crash you need that protection. Besides who wants plastic windows?

I would buy aftermarket power window, and power lock motors if they were lighter if I were you.

It might just be my imagination, but I have an '87 Firebird and '89 Formula and I think that the doors on the '89 feel lighter opening and closing. It could just be that the hinges are better. I don't have a clue. Just maybe thought that GM did something to the doors to help reduce weight in the car.
