semi clear tailights

alright i was looking at the taillights of my 85 camaro today, the taillights have no black strip across them. i was thinking the white reverse light lense cover looks like its the same size as the ugly yellow turn signal lense. so if i could find another clear reverse light lense and put it in place of the yellow one and just got an orange bulb for the turn signal i would have red and white taillights. the brake light lenses would still be red. Could this be possible? im not sure if you can take the lenses off seperately. need some info. other than that i think red and white tails would look sick on a black camaro. what do you guys think?

The all red ones that were shown on here a few days ago would be better in my opinion

the lenses are attached to eachother with some sort of epoxy or even a plastic fusion. you can cut them apart with a dremel, just be very careful.

I have removed the lenses of my 91. the entire lens is one peice. to cut it into 2 parts would be hard enough, now re resin it back togeater would be a major PITA. I would simply make a mold of the lenses and take that mold and make a totally clear lens that can be painted WITH TRANSLUCENT PAINT to get the desired coloration. If you want to know how to make the actual mold email me and I'll send ya the info. I have it rattling around in a post somewhere too... if ya want to find it...

all taillights from 82-89, except the 85-92 grid style lights are multipiece, and are glued together.

I verified this by my iroc taillights, and my stockers. I did the the translucent candy apple red to the amber section paint mod, on both sets yesterday, and now I'm iching to put the iroc tails back on, they are beautiful. the stock ones aren't bad either, just the white reverse section looks extrememly white now on the non-grid lights. to all who don't understand what I did. I painted the amber section with translucent candy apple red model paint to make the amber section red. w/ the turn sigs on, they look slightly oranger than the tails, but to remedy that, all you have to do is replace the reg clear light bulbs in the brakelight with anber ones. 2357NA is the best bet. then they'd both have a orangish-red cast to them.
