Converting from hardtop to t top!! Need Help!!

I have a 1976 black trans am & I am very unhappy with my hard top, my buddy has a 1984 camaro with t tops & every time we go out he just has to take them off & rub it in my face. I have decided to make the conversion from hardtop to t top. However I have no clue where to start, I realize it won't be easy but I need some sort of direction. I'd really appreciate it.

Before this gets locked for not being third gen related, you might take a look at this thread for general ideas https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/fabr...onversion.html .

Other than that, you might try posting on a site that allows 2nd gen discussion, such as www.transamcountry.com .

Cut the two sale panels on the body seam, and cut the front about 3" down from the top. Weld it and a little filler.

Couple of threads on nastyz28 about it, people have done it over the years. It's not that bad.
