Insulation on inside of doors.

Hi,

On the inside of the doors when the door card is removed there is a plastic insulation or a paper like sound deading on the earlier models. I have been trying to find the name of the black tacky stuff around the edges that holds the insulation/sound deading to the door. Would anyone know what this is called. Even after 30 years or so it is still tacky and flexible.

I believe it's automotive caulking. I have a box of it made by 3M.

Yes, I have done a search for that but can't get the 3M Stuff here in Europe or at least I can't find it. I am trying to get the name of an equivalent product at the moment. There is a 3M shop in the UK but they don't seem to have it.

Thanks.
