rims and diping...

Has any1 ever had their rims diped (chrome) who does that? how much is it? does it last? is it advised against? or do people generally like thier results?

My dad had his '89 Corvette rims dipped and they look really nice. It was a company out in CA that only deals with used Vette rims though. Bascially you ship them your old wheels and in return for your used rims, they send you completely refurbished rims that match your year. First they sand down the used rims to remove any nics or scrapes and then the chrome is applied to them. It really is nice to see the stock rim completely done up in chrome.

I think the whole process was around $1500.
I dont know if I have ever seen any place like that for F-bodies though.

seems a bit pricey considering you can get a new set of chrome rims for 1200 or so...
