How to get that dull finish?
How to get that dull finish?
I've seen a few cars, mostly 50's coupes, with a matte finish. I've heard that its primer with color added, then sanded. Is it that, or no clearcoat? Anybody know what I'm talking about?
Yes, it is usually tinted primer, though you can also purchase satin enamel by the gallon, and I know a few rodders that have used it to keep the "suede" look on a more permanent basis, instead of primer.

It is almost like the semi-flat hoods on the old Road Runners.
