You could spray dye them as well. Clean with acetone or laquer thinner thouroughly, spray with adhesion promoter (bulldog is key, available at paint suppliers in aerosol cans) then dye, mar-hyde & duplicolor make great aerosol dyes. I prefer duplicolor because of the fan spray tip myself but to each their own. They do make dyes that you can mix for paint guns (that work a little bettr) but for trying to cover what you are doing, it's not really worth it. Using a scotch brite pad to scuff the plastic before using adhesion promoter helps as well.

You can buy a carpet to cover them with, it's sometimes called flex form carpeting. www.mrmikes.com sells it. This stuff is cheap and all you have to do is lay it on the panels and cut to fit. It's good for using on the top of the panels but not on the bottom half. But you don't really see that part anyway. . . otherwise you can paint or dye which will polish it up a little but that doesn't cover scratches well. If you use carpet, you need some that stretches or you'll never get it to fit around the curves of the plastic very cleanly.
