Ultima "GTA" Seat belts

I have an 87 Formula that I put the Ultima seats in, The only problem i have is the Seat belt likes to come out of its loop. It is like the loop is upside down.

My question is this, for all you GTA owners and T/A's with the Ultima seats. When you look at your seatbelt loop there is a split where you can slip your seatbelt through,
is your slit on the top side or the bottom side.

Mine is on top, and it looks like I have them on the wrong seats. it seems like the slit should go down. I once tried to switch them but I think there was some problem with doing that. been a while.

thanks.

John

Im sorry but I dont know the answer to your question. But I have a question for you. I have the chance to buy a set of mint black cloth GTA seats from an '89. Are they worth $300? This is my first car and I want it to look nice, but I am not sure if I want to go too crazy. Is that a lot of $$$ for a set of third gen seats...even though they are from the GTA? I havent seen them....but he said they are mint. I really want them in order to finish off my black interior swap. All I have left to get is a black rug and black seatbelts. I cant seem to find black seatbelts anywhere. Well, anyways...are they comfortable? How would they look in my '83 TA w/t-tops...it is kind of a GTA look a-like since the previous owner swapped the front end and rear bumper along with putting black GTA rims and an aerowing spoiler. I figured these seats would top it off. Or do you think I could find a nice set of solid black seat covers???? Please help...I need help on my decision..and figured you would be the best person to ask since you have the nicest set of custom seats I have ever seen..and they look even better since they are the GTA seats.

Go with the seats, it's a pretty good deal, I'd try and talk him down some though. The GTA seat's are really confortable! And if your interested TransAmGTA.com (down now I think) sells authentic leather covers for trans am's.

IF they are tryely MINT, then yes its worth it, make sure you get the wires & tubes for between the seats.

The Power wire and plug you will need is the same for all Power Firebird/camaro seats. Make sure you get the wires and the hoses going between the seats, otherwise they jsut look nice and don't function.

MINT seems to mean different things for different people. Make sure the seat cushons are NOT HARD, and make sure the fibber in the cloth is not rotton and ready to fall apart. Mine LOOKED great, but when you would touch the fabric it had a strange feel, when the Upholster tore the covers off, He informed me that they had to be careful with the pieces so not to tear them.

The side side supports, on the door sides, that hold you in the seat seam to get bent inward after time from sliding in seems to pull them inward a little if your not careful. I had to straighten mine when I had them re-covered, I have had no problems other than that.

Thought I would post some pix of my interior:

NO, they are not stock, According to the Literature I have from Pontiac the Formula was not Offered with the "Ultima" Seats, Only the T/A & GTA were. BUT I have a Factory Photo that shows a Formula with those seats, Go Fig.

Those seats are from a parts car that I bought for $250 I had them recovered them with the Leather last year.

What you see there cost me $2300, that included both color Leathers & other materials/embridery on all the Seats, Door Panels & the front Pocket.

The guy that did it I think is out of business 'cause I called him yesterday and the phone had been disconnected.
