Overhead Console Removal

How do i remove the overhead console in my firebird? I took off the dome lens and found 2 screws and unscrewed them but there is still something else securing the console to the roof. Whats still holding it to the roof and how do i remove it without damaging it?

Just slide it forward and down once the two speednuts have been removed. It's got keyholes that slide onto screws in the roof panel.

I can't recall exactly, but the removal (and of course installation) of the t-top and coupe version is a bit different. I "believe" the console is pushed toward the hatch to remove in a coupe, and the t-top version is pushed toward the windshield. Anyway, they're opposites.

I have worked with both Hard-Top and T-TOP and I am REALLY sure you slide them forward to remove and slide backward to install.
