1985 z28 restore project
Hey guys first time poster here, i have an 85 Z28 and am looking to redo the paint and patch up the surface rust but am not really sure where to start, the paint is white with a gold trim underneath and has some surface rust coming through. I was thinking of a metallic flake black with a red trim underneath. How much would this cost to do on my own, or what is a general cost to get this done somewhere? any ideas on how to go about this? thanks.

Welcome and take advantage of the techboards. There are currently lots of restorations going on right now. Check our the 'members Camaro's to see some.
Also, I'm suggesting that instead of leaving your profile almost completely anonymous, you take a minute to provide others with some info. While it's not necessary to give a bio, your interests, or your exact location, at the very least, you should display your car's year, model and engine size & type.
To do so, click on your user name and in the 'about me' section, click on the pencil icon and please fill in the information that will result in you getting better and quicker responses to your questions.

Re: 1985 z28 restore project
sorry for the vagueness, it's a 350ci 5.7L 4barrel small block, automatic trans, had the 305 but that blew after 100k miles, have 25k on this motor so far. As far as the body work and painting goes i'd like to just get a general idea on paint i could buy somewhere local, i don't want a 40,000$ paint job, but i do want it to look good so maybe something in between basic and intermediate price range? I can do all the prep work at my house with taking care of the rust and whatnot, but the painting I've never done on a car before.
