how would i go about removing s**ty tint from my windows?

well my car's tint is very ugly indeed, i guess the owner put it on himself because one side is full of bubbles and the other is kinda foggy "on the door windows" i am wondering how would i go about removing the tint safley as not ot scratch the windows, i never doent his before so i would appreciate it if someone told me in detail what i need and how its done, oh and my hatch window tint is perfect, do you guys htink it would look ugly if i removed the door window tints and left the hatch tint on?? or would it look fine?

When I got my car it had 5% on all the windows that I had to take off for inspection, plus it was too dark anyway. Use a good flat razor and a windex w/ amonia. The amonia eats the window tint glue. It's also best to do it in the sun to help soften the glue, this will allow it to come off in big sheets. Good luck.

i used some stuff called Contractors Solvent. it comes in a spray bottle and it's yellow and smells lemony. it takes the glue right off with just a rag.

Peal off the window tint, it will leave a tape residue. There is this stuff called "Quick 'N' Kleen" it too is a citrus cleaner will disolve that nasty stickum.

How you do it is cover the doors with a towel, tape it to the top of the door panel. it will not damage the door panel it just does a cleaner job easy cleanup this way. 1) Peal off the tint, 2) spray on quick 'n' Kleen, 3) let set for about 10 to 15 min 4) wipe off with (another) towel 5) take a damp washcloth and clean the oil left behind by the quick & kleen, 6) wipe dry 7) remove towel from door top.

It worked on mine, unless different brands of window tint works different, it should be fine.

You can also use a little laquer thinner on a paper towel to remove the stickum. It does not do interiors quite so well though.

If you want to purcahse some Quick & Kleen call me, I work for a company that makes Aircraft windshields we use this stuff to remove sticky back paper from Plexiglas all the time.

If you plan on getting your car re-tinted then let the place do it. It may be a little extra..but it will be worth not having to go through the hassel.
