Whats it gonna take to fix?
my brother has an 89 RS. his friends girlfriend backed into it. we are going to do the repairing oursleves then he will use the extra money to paint the whole car.

its only about $73 for an aftermarket fender, thats really the only piece i've looked into, cause he's too lazy to do it himself.
i think his car's gonna look awesome with this fixed and the whole thing painted....he has a primered cowl hood now.

The damage is NOT that severe, I would start by taking it to some Bump & paint places to see how mucht they would charge you. Every place here in flinf will give appraisals for free. I dont know how it is in you neck of the woods.
The front bumper is VERY salvagable, You can get some Urithane bumper repair stuff at most GOOD local car parts places. You might want to look into going to a junk yard and seeing about cutting some pieces off a completely demolished Urithane bumper, take some small pieces and glue them to the underside for reinforcement where the cracks & splits are.
The turn light is common for all firebirds & camaros 82-92, REMEMBER TO GET THE 2 SPRING CLIPS
If you are going to remove the fender anyway, bump that fender out, and start working with some Bondo, if done right you will never notice. If it does not work out, you can always get the fender you were planning on.
As a note, be careful with aftermarket steel, it does not seem to hold up to the same abuse that a GM original would. The steel is not as high of quality, After Mkt fenders are not sealed like a GM part was. if You go GM, you might get the same crappy fender, for some parts they have someone else make them anyway. Your best bet to fight off rust & such is to try and repair that fender, if it does not work out, you can still go and do what you were first planning.

That fender will probably just pop back out if you push on it. Same thing happened to my '87 bird. I repaired it for about $30. It didn't look professional, but you couldn't notice it unless you got pretty close.
