i decided i need to get all the pictures of my 1989 camaro in order. i am creating this thread so that i can have them organized from start to finish, in order that i took them. so here it goes i guess.

 

first pic i ever took of it

 

 

years later, engine is out for a rebuild. the week before we ripped the engine out, i got a new hood for it, and the paint was peeling on the front bumper. primer time

 

engine out, bought new tail lights to replace the rs ones, polished them up and installed.

 

day before 350 installation, got a new grille and repainted it.




car is all jacked up and ready for installation. repainted the front black, got rid of the primer.

 

installing the shortblock.

 

the next day, we finished it off, putting the rest on the engine. heads, intake, headers, etc...

i then picked up some 16x8 torque thrust rims. along with headlight and tail light covers.

wanted it to be a z28 for a while,

 

 

messing around with some spray paint, didnt like it, looked terrible.

 

got tired of the split color hood...

 

shaved the front nose emblem

 

didnt like the chrome in the engine bay, changed it up a bit

 

finally decided i would get the car one color. black. PREP TIME

all cleaned up:

 

put her away for the night

new headlight holders


and new bezels


new rear bumper


shot the paint.

 

There's an honest ride.

I like.

 

oh yea before i painted it i converted it to power windows. had to take at least 10 hours in total to do all of that. wiring, and mounting and installing the power motors.

got a hawks 5 inch spoiler for it.

i then did custom tail lights. repainted black areas, 4 coats of clear, and some red vht nightshade on the inside of the lense. also repainted the reflective silver areas.

 

 

i then made a custom grille, and in the process made a custom license plate mount.
made the mounts out of 8th inch sheet metal...

i am currently going to be doing a widebody to my car. fully custom, me doing all of the molding and work. it is going to add about 3 inches to both sides, front and rear. im going to be running Weld Racing RTS High Pad 18x12 wheels on all four corners.

 

What all you use to paint it?

 

its just primer, and then black primer sealer. it is just temporary... something quick to get it one color. im getting it professionally painted hopefully sometime soon. gunmetal grey metallic and black.

 

Overall a good looking ride. You've done alot of work on it and it shows. It'll look even better with a nice paint job.

 

Everything went better than expected !

whats your specs on your engine?

 

350 1993 caprice cop car engine, rebuilt, and bored out .030 over. 355 ci, radical cam, ported and polished intake and heads, shorty headers, aftermarket injectors,... engine builder said it would easily be pushing over 400.
