Priming Camaro

Is there a way to prime a section of a car and not absorb moisture into it. My camaro is outside, the only place i can put it, and I am trying to get body work done, but I heard primer absorbs water. I don't know if this is with the cheap stuff or not. Let me know. THanks

Anyone know? I hate to leave my car outside and have it rust.

primer acts like a sponge when conserned with water, just get a couple cheap cans of spray paint and just a couple lite coatings and should be fine.

Does primer come in white? Because that would be the best seeing as the car is getting resprayed in white. Plus, my car looks like a spotted cow with the primer marks over the rough areas

I couldnt find any white primer when i started working on mine, just grey and black. Anyways I got a $4 can of white spraypaint and put 2-3 coats over the primer so its white(ish) and no water soaking.

Not sure if the shops gonna have to sand the paint back off again or not tho
