Question about upper Console with Map light, Dome light etc...

Hey Guys does anyone have this upper console that is up on the headliner? It has the garage door opener, the Dome light, the map light, and the trip dials, and sunglass pouch on it. I know that it came on 87 GTA's, and some Iroc's. Or has anyone istalled one in a car that did not come with one? I have an 89 GTA, and it didn't come with one. I would like to purchase one and install it. The question I have is how will I wire it, and how does it bolt up to the headliner so it won't fall down?? Can this be done right? Thanks for the help dudes!
Mike

First of all just so you know they were available as an option on 85-87 Camaro's and Firebirds.
And yes i have installed one into a car that did not originally have one (90 Formula350)

I have the instructions around somewhere and do have a extra one out of a 87 Iroc-Z in great shape and has the flashlight in excellent working order.it is for a Hardtop car. the hardtop and t-top ones are shaped different.

Installation is quite easy--or at least it was in my 85 IROC hardtop because the mounting holes were pre-drilled. You'll need the four mounting studs, two screws, six inches or so of wiring harness to include the ground wire, and if you have a hardtop, the cardboard reinforcement piece which inserts under the headliner. By the way, you'll have to cut holes in the headliner to accomodate mounting. Check the tech articles for more info. The first year for these, according to the Camaro White Book is 1984.

Sorry got no pix-but it is in excellent shape, and has some wiring coming off of it to help with the installation.
I installed mine in about and hour total (i have restored a couple of thirdgens for people so i know what needs to come apart and what size bolts Etc...) including cutting and prepping the headliner.
I am not sure what the going average is for one of these but i see alot of them sell for $50-60.00 with out the flashlight, the one i have has the light and works excellent.
make me a resonable offer and it's yours.
