how do i remove the manual window handles?????

how do i remove the manual window handles?????

i just bought some very nice "beefy looking" window handles for my camaro,"wheni say windoe handle i mean the ones that you turn ot open the window" i needed to know how do i remove hte old ones so i can pop these baby's on? do i just pull them?? is there soemthign special i must do? please help then ill take a pic and show everyone

Sometimes you can fool around with a screwdriver to get them, but for $7 you can get the right tool. It just slides behind the handle and releases the clip. Essentially it's held on with a C-clip type fastener. You need to slide the tool in parallel to the handle (and on the same side as the handle) and I usually shield the back side so the clip doesn't go flying off to never-never land. Then you just put the clip onto the handle and push it back on to reinstall.

He's right about the clip...new GM cars are still mafe the same way. If you're just replacing the handles, that's the easy part...but get the tool, a right angle pick works too...

Ive allways just used a thin pair of pliers when I needed the handles off. Works just fine.
