mud flaps/splash guards

Just wondering if any one has ever installed or know where to get flaps that are model specific to the firebirds. Or even ones that fit the fenders nice front and back. Our roads are crap around here and want to protect my paint a little.

Re: mud flaps/splash guards

I have a set of camaro ones I got off a parts car on my garage wall. im not a fan of them really but I assume they would be pretty hard to come by. Try ebay or kijiji as you might get lucky to find a set used for a decent price and not too beaten up. To install them is as simple as using the self taping screws in the inner fender or to drill holes in them for the push pin style ones. seems it would be pretty easy all you got to make sure is they line up good

Here's what I use on my Z-28, I bought one pair that was the size I was looking for that would look good. I then proceeded to Home Depot and bought 4 pieces of plexiglass 11"X14" along with the cutter for it, cost was minimal but when done and installed your flaps are not easily visible. You can clean them with any plastic polish to keep them clear and it's better than the black ones in my opinion. Keep the black one for your template. I got the idea from some of the corvette guys who didn't want black flaps and would even use nuts that allowed them to be taken off when they arrived at a show.

I bought my car when it was just 4 years old. The original owner had the holes drilled in the fenders where he had flaps on it at one time. I had my body man fill in the holes and repaint because I wasn't putting flaps on a sports-type car. Sacrilegious. Besides, if you have performance tires on, most don't have a tread pattern that holds stones.

If you insist, only get solid black ones, no logos. That would look the best IF you insist on desecrating your car.
