windshield wiper motor

I have an 83 Trans Am with the delay wipers. These wipers are extremely slow, to the point that Im not realcomfortable driving in more than a sprinkle. I saw that carparts.com has remanufactured wiper motors for around 60 bucks. Will this cure the slow wipers? Are our wipers always this slow or do they just get slower with old age? Thanks in advance.

My 86 sports coupe has just 1 speed, I took a jumper wire and put full juice to it and it is the same speed. I did a search and found this reply, I hope someone can help because above a sprinkle my car is unsafe!
Thanks Randy

I had that happen to me last year. My wipers got slower, slower aaannnddd slloowweeeer then stop. When I got the car out this year I got a remfg. motor for $80 got the garage to install for 'bout $40. However, I didn't realize & nobody mentioned to me that the motor that makes the windshield stuff squirt out is in the wiper motor and the garage took out the old one and put it the new wiper motor. This sucks cuz mine doesn't work.
