WINDSHIELD DAMAGE ???

the past few years I have picked up several chips in my windshield . I have had them all tended to & repaired . today I noticed one close to the lower corner that has cracked to the edge . it may not be too long till I need a replacement . my question , are NEW ones still available at a reasonable price ? thanks in advance ...

Yes, most glass shops still have replacements, shouldn't be more than $200
Many people have mentioned that the trim strip provided by the shops doesn't really fit, so save the original or get one somewhere else.

Re: WINDSHIELD DAMAGE ???

In AZ we have glass insurance, 4 free windshields (or other glass items) a year. Gonna get all my windows replaced for free.

Probably should contact your insurance and see if they provide it. Shouldnt be to terribly expensive.

Re: WINDSHIELD DAMAGE ???

Make sure you look the glass over carefully. The vast majority have a little tag that says "Made in China". It's not easy to get American made glass anymore. There are a lot of complaints about the quality of the Chinese glass that Safelite and JN Phillips provide.
