Questions about a Maaco "until-more-$$$" paint job...

Hey guys, I was wondering what it would cost for Maaco to do a small bit of bady owrk on my car and then paint it. I don't want any fancy stuff just a basic paintjob since I won't have much mullah after paying off tickets. I am looking to spend at MOST 400$, is it possible to get a paintjob that will look decent for 6 montsh (at which point I'll prolly spend around 1K on paintjob) for that price?

My car is currently made of 3 differnt colored panels and people make fun of it

You should be able to get it done for that if they're having their "Half-Price Madness" sale. I got mine which was the top of the line, and some body work for like 650.

I would consider getting some spray paint and making it one color, and with the money you save, put it towards your paint job. Figure you will have 1300 to spend rather than 1000 in 6 mos.

It'll cost you a LOT more later on to get body work done if they have to fix Maaco's crap.

Maaco sux. Your best bet would be to save for a decent paint job, The guy i bought my old Camaro from had it painted there before i bought it and there was paint on the windows, inside on the steering wheel, the carpet, and all my locks were painted over. Again, i had them fix the fender on my Grand prix, and they gave me the car back without the inner fender skirt, and a handful of screws they dident put back in. i might as well have done it myself! Now i have another Camaro and ill never go back to Maaco again!

Thanks for the advice, yeah I decided I'll just spray the car myslef and save for a good painjob. Would a egular primer sold at Strauss hold up for the 6 or so months before I get it painted?

Most folks are right on about maaco. If YOU do the body work and tape most everything off {and remove all items that can be} then just let maaco paint it, you will be good to go. The cannot do body work or prep work, but they know how to spray on paint. Just take that advice and you will be good!

I got my car at macco, they fixed the dents perfectly, and didnt use any bondo or anything. the paint still shines perfectly too. I would go to your local macco and check out the other cars that come out of there. remember they are all independly owened and quality varies by shop. Dont just take "macco sucks", investigate it.

U should take the money buy some can primer.Than with the rest of the money go buy a small compressor and a cheaper spray gun and pratice painting.Than u can spray it your self .U can do a sweet paint job with a grand.
