Hood Bird question
Hood Bird question
I am curious to know before i airbrush my hood, if there is any meaning to the bird looking left or right. I know that looking over left shoulder is considered evil/bad etc... other than that, anyone know of any reason for the left/right looking Phoenix? Possibly features the car has or just the year. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Re: Hood Bird question
First time I've heard of anything looking over its left shoulder to be considered "evil". Weird. But I guess that does support the story of my old neighbor having the cops called on him by some old blue-haired lady for having what she described as a "satanic car" (stock 1977-78 T/A SE) in his driveway.
IIRC, the early screaming chickens (1973-78) were facing to their left. 1979 and non-turbo 1980-81s faced to their right. Turbo 1980-81s faced to their left so that their associated fire breath would be positioned over the bulge in the driver's side of the hood.

Re: Hood Bird question
Blue hair dropping a dime on a parked car. That's a good one.
From all the photos I've seen, it's not only just to miss a bump in hood or shaker etc...
There has to be another significant reason as well as missing cents. I have Two birds to paint and I am just way to curious about it for my own good.
Thanks Navy!
