Rear end question.

I have an 85 T/A with a 273 open drum brake rear. I found a 342 posi disc brake rear. What all will have to be changed to make this work? If too difficult, can I just bolt on the drum brake backing plates? have access to anything from the donor car. Came out of an 87 GTA. Thanks.

There's nothing different between the 2, it's a direct bolt in. however, the E-brake lines are different & you will most likely need the plastic lined cables that go to the rear brakes from the vehicle you got the rear from or get some new ones from the dealer. Other than that & you'll need to bleed the brakes.
I've heard of needing thr proportioning valve as well but I haven't felt a problem with mine from not changing it & the backs appear (while on jack stands) to work just fine. I'm sure the valve is something that wouldn't hurt though (just more work).
