I ordered a new pair of outside door handles from Brock's. Arrived fine and they seem ok- for a made in Taiwan special.

Problem is the mounts aren't threaded. My speed nuts I took off are too large so now I'm in a situation where I can't find appropriate nuts anywhere. Can someone help? What a stupid bit of engineering. Where can I buy 10mm E_Z type nuts. Been looking everywhere bearing in mind I am in Britain.

The Door Handles Don't Come Threaded,As You Tighten The Nuts On The 2 Door Handle Studs,They Self Thread.

 

Get new speed nuts that fit, or lay them flat and peck on the part that threads to close them up a little.

You can get most anything on fleabay. May be able to find some in the help section of autozone. GM dealer probably has some.

Go to a NAPA. I bought a 20 pack not that long ago.

I got the right nuts in the end and wanted to conclude this for anyone in the same situation.

I needed these- 50 Thread Cutting Nuts 5mm Stud Size Phosphate 11508900

Part number should work on ebay etc..

Hope this helps someone somewhere.
