Repairing a cracked ground effect

Was driving on the highway the other day at night, and WHAM - ran over a BLOCK OF WOOD some moron dropped out of their truck or something. Anyway, luckily, the only damage is i has a little crack in my driverside ground effect, right behind the tire. It's not really bad, but i will be repainting soon, so i'd like to fix it ASAP. My question is, is there a kit or something that can repair cracks in our ground effects? I THINK my ground effects (91-92 style) are plastic, but i'm not positive. I'd really like to just fix this rather than buy a whole new side piece. Thanks!

Camaro or firebird? The camaro ground effects are so rigid that as long as you brace the broken/cracked area in the back, you can use body filler.

On the firebirds, they used some crap urethane that flexes like hell. For those, you need some bumper repair epoxy. You then grind the crack into a V, and fill the V with the epoxy. After it hardens, you block sand it smooth, and continue on from there as you would normally.

Even on the urithane crap I would go to a junkyard and find a car with a messed up urithane bumper. Cut off a chunk and bond it to the back side of the Ground FX. Make sure it is in a place that will not make it fit funny.

I'm sorry, this is on a 85 IROC, but with 92 ground effects and panels

On my '91 I used VersaChem Plastic Welding System (epoxy) that I got from AdvancedAuto and them I reinforced the back side with fiberglass resin & mat for extra strength. So ... fixing the crack is pretty easy. The tough part is finishing/painting.
