RUST
I was just wondering if anybody has done rust repair on one of our cars. I have a rust bubble on the winshield header panel on my 86 IROC. I was considering drilling out the spot welds and replacing the entire thing, but I am concerned about structual integrity, since it is a T-Top car I just want the rust gone. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

if ur talkin about the bar by the top of the windsheild. all u do is get a metal scraper scrape off the bubbled paint to the metal, sand it with 80 grit and go to 180 and before u put like any bondo or filler in go by sum rust stop stuff from like a automotive paint store the should carry something. then fill in the spot with bondo or a good filler, wait till it sets and hardens then sand with 80 then 180 but use 180 becuz its faster and it also smooths it at te same time and then when u get it nice and smooth with the rest of the bar primer lightly sand or use a scouring pad and then used sum laquar puddy i think and that will fill in any little things u missed and with that u have to wet sand the laquar puddy and then primer and paint but make sure everything is cleaned after u do this before u paint becuz if not it will be bad. i know this becuz i have pleanty of those spots on my car this summer and i got rid of them in that way. if ur not to sure about what i said just give a local body shop a call.

If the rust spot is not to bad you should get it sand blasted to get rid of all the rust.Rust paint will only cover the rust for, as long as it can.If the rust is deep you should think about a cutting the rust out.
P.S
If you can look behind the winshild moulding sometims rust can form in there too.
