Back Halved Question for 87 Iroc

Have anyone of you had this done? I own an 87 Iroc and want to get it back halved and just seeing the average price people have dished out for such a project. This shop near me says it will be roughly $2,500

Re: Back Halved Question for 87 Iroc

Ah, I had to look that up too. I'm not much of a drag racer. Depending on what exactly was being done, seems like it might cost even more than $2500 to do that to unibody car.
I don't really see the point of doing this kind of mod to a third gen. Third gens were designed to be road racers, so many things about them makes them less than desirable drag racers. So much work to get them there, and then they aren't good road racers any more. Just seems like it would be better to start with some other car or truck.
But there are many here who disagree, so they will help you out.
However, many more expenses to complete this project to its goal than just bodywork. What axle/trans/suspension you planning on using? Seems like one of those projects where you need to have no concerns to cost or don't bother.

That's what I'm guessing...that's when you take a car that's totaled in the rear, find another one that's got a good rear, then cut them both up and make a good car from the two bad ones? Opposite of a front clip in other words.

Edit: apparently it's just tubbing a car.

What exactly are you trying to do with your car that you want it back halfed? Do you plan on making the car into a drag car or just like the look?

One thing to remember, you needs tons of power to turn those huge meats.
