GTA wheels... front and rear different.. how?

Well theres a story to why, but I dont think anyone is interested, soo.. I need new wheels for the right side. I found used ones from a site ( http://www.tacreationsusa.com/firebird.htm ) and the price was $150 front and $100 rear. I noticed today that my front wheel is set in further than the rear (left side wheels). Is this the reason for higher pricing?

Why are the wheels like this anyone know?
Thanx

The rear axle is wider than the front, so a different offset wheel was necessary. If you put the rears on the front, they'll contact either the spindles or the caliper, I forget which. You can put the fronts on the rear without any problems, but if you lower the car, it could be necessary to roll the inner fender for additional clearance.

The fronts probably cost more because they are more popular. Most accidents occur in the front of the car, plus many people buy 4 fronts for non-fbody applications.

I am running a set of 4 fronts on my Formula right now, and it looks just a little more agressive than my all stock Formula. I paid $50 for te set of 4 fronts, and I am planning on refinishing mine soon. Its funny, you could walk around the car 5 times, and no one would ever notice, the rears are more flush with the fender, than stock. Of course the Baer Brakes in the front help my front wheels look to be about 1/2" more on each side does not hurt, so it looks balanced.

The question you asked, what the difference is? The fronts have about a 3/4 of an inch more of an offset than the rears.

I like the look of 4 fronts... Hmm... wish I could find two more hehe...

Glad they didnt make it too deep in the front, may give off a front wheel drive look... that would not be good.

Thanx for the replies btw Get the wheels back from the shop Monday cant wait
