91-92 t/a tail lights

aren't 91-92 t/a tail lights exactly the same as 85-90 t/a lights. if so why does gts make different tail light covers which say they are specificly for 91-92.

Because the 91-92 style are the 2 piece-while the 85-90 style is the 3 piece style.

They aren't, sorry I don't have a pic right now but they're def. 2 pieces where the more plentiful ones are 3 including the middle bird.

Believe me i didn't know the 91-92s existed until I saw a pic and started asking around just like you are

Actually they are very plentiful....they are just a little pricey. You can order 91-92 Trans Am tail lights from NextGen. I believe they are around $200 a side

Personally, I like the 85-90 style better.

If i remember it right, only the 91-92 Trans ams and GTAs have the 2 piece lights. Firebirds and formulas got the regular base model 3-piece deals.

1991-1992 GTA's and Trans Ams got those lights..

Also, since we're on this subject, the '82-'84 Trans Am lights were black and lit up red while the '82-'84 Firebird lights were red..

Another little taillight trivia note is that the '85 base model birds got the revised bumper and nose that carried on from '85-'92 but came with the old style '82-'84 lights...

Wow, no kidding. I guess Dark Man C really wanted everyone to see his taillights.

OK, since we have the montage of taillights, how about the conversion chart for wiring harnesses? I put '86 TA taillights on my '83, and was able to use the stock harness. I understand Formula harnesses are different and you can't do that with them. I was also told the 91-92 T/A-GTA lights had their own harness. So who knows what swaps-to-what and what modifications need to be made?
