Questions and more questions....
I drive a 92 firebird just so ya'll know.
here goes...
what is the correct way to remove the door panel...getting off the torx bolts is easy, and i did take mine off but i broke some of the clips that are on the plastic part that sits next to the window...argh.
ok now dealing with the 92 gfx:
on the side skirts i have read that there is a metal strip that the non-gfx birds didn't come with... you know so they wont sag or whatever...so is it a bolt on piece or welded on? can i take it off another car with the ground effects? if so does it have to be the 92 gfx, or can i take it off just about any year bird with different ground effects??
also i bought all the gfx pieces used and they didn't come with any bolts or anything... and all the studs aren't threaded like most bolts i've see, they are mostly smooth except for on long spiral thread...i'm hopeing one of you guys knows what i mean.. anyways, what am i supposed to used to keep these thinks on???
oh and what do you guys think about a metallic silver firebird???
you know that new shiny silver thats on the new corvettes, jettas, and mustangs??
do you guys think that would look good???
thanks, i really appreciate any help i get...

Most of the door panels come off the same way, there are some differences, but pretty similar.
You apparently have all the Torx screws out, that's agood start.
Now you have to pop out all the retainers all the way around the door panel (except top). There is a tool to do it, it looks like a Y, and you pop them out one at a time.
Once the panel is floping around, you should have the window DOWN. and while pulling up gently, take the ball of your palm and beat the plastice piece toward the outside of the car. I start in the front or the rear, and work my way toward the other end. The front I think has 2 clips right close to each other, and they sometimes give me fits.
I can usually have a door panel off in about 20 min. I think that includes finding the tools.
