removing rear bumper cover
i'm changing over to ground effects, and i was wondering how do i get the rear bumper cover off. i see the 3 bolts on each side, but i have no idea how i'm supposed to get at them

Remove the side panels, and you may have to remove the rear panel as well, you will see 3 bolts on each side, undo those and it slides right off

. After that, you have to remove the plastic locks on the bottom of the bumper, then remove the tail lights to get at the plastic locks on the top of the bumper. I'm sure GM has a special tool for removing the locks that probably sells for $100+, but I just use a pliers. You first have to pull the center out about 1/2 inch, then the entire piece pulls out.

SOOOOO EASY! I pulled one off in the junkyard, having never done it before, in about 5 minutes.
1. remove rear plastic interior piece(loosening the side pieces wouldn't hurt either).
2. remove the 4 BIG black wingnuts on each tailight.
3.gently pull out the tailight so you can see the wiring harness for each bulb...then just twist and pull. The license plate bulb was tricky the first time, you just have to figure out how to get your fingers in there.
Also- while they're out, blue coral plastic polish/cleaner makes 'em like new...almost!!!
