I never thought it would happen to me, I see guys on the internet who say they've got their cars broken into. I can now say myself that my car was broken into. I have a '84 berlinetta, it was suppose to have the weird radio but the previous owner custom installed a mounting bracket for the deck, and did a good job. Anyways, the thiefs cracked the plastic around the shifter real bad, destroyed the bracket, and took my cd deck. Since I need a new console I was wondering if one from a Z28 of a newer year would fit. I called my dads friend at the auto wreckers and he said that it might not fit because my car is a berlinetta. I figured if I got one from a Z28 I wouldnt have to make a bracket and I could just get my next deck to fit.

 

It should fit depending on the year.82to89 or 90 should fit corectly with your berlinetta.But a 91-92 is different I think.You said the previous owner made some kind of bracket for the cd player,you should be able to put another cd player in there.On my car I just got this aftermarket plastic trim from somewhere and it fits perfectly where the tape deck use to be.
