How do I get this this and that thing off??

Alright, my weekend project involes a few things. I'm installing my IROC grid taillgihts I got off ebay, and I'm installing a new shifter plate, my old on is cracked on all the edges, taking out my seats to steam cleam them and the carpet and a good detailing.

My question is, how do I remove the shift *** itself. I know how to get the plate off, but how do I get the **** part off so I can switch plates??

There is a clip in the back of the ****. Just stick a flat head screwdriver inbetween the **** and the clip and pry it out. Pretty much self explainitory. Hope this helps.

just pop it off, its really simple. and to get it back on, just put the clip in the hole a little ways before you pop the **** back on so its already lined up and when the **** is in place, just slide the clip in. there is no spring to worry about. when i did my sound deadning, i drove for a while with no shift **** at all, just that little white piece...

cloud z roc, this only applied to the camaros with the squarish shifter ****. the round one twists though (if I can remember right) like you stick it on then twist it into some grooces to the right. (then again I did a little fab work to get the round one to fit)

check this out. I took off my shifter **** a while ago to clean it and I lost the clip. It turned out that it was a good thing. I realized that if you take the white accuator rod out and bring it with you and put the shifter **** back on, when they break your window they cant figure out how to drive away with the car. Price of window: $15 Install: $ did it my self. Still having my car becuase I lost that clip: Priceless
