Does anyone else have dents in their bumper cover
Does anyone else have dents in their bumper cover
I have this annoying problem with the bumper cover on my 82 Z28
Apparently it's common
Can anyone help?

Mine has them, but not near so bad. Maybe thats just because its not black. If you find a fix. Id like to know too. (have a feeling the fix is a new cover)

my friends 85 t/a had that problem....now ill admit the car had to get painted so i dont think it would be very wise to do to a nice looking car but we took the cover off..and just basicly made two board like braces for behind it...then took a heat gun to make it (bumper cover) more flexable pushed the dents out so they looked flat then when we installed the boards/brace (well we screwd up a bit and one was bowed out a bit but we sanded it down)...just make a triangular bit of wood and find a way to install it (remember they are slanted back at a angle too)

p.s. his car needed paint badly so yeah please dont screw up a nice car...if all else fails new bumper covers work well

i had a small one on my first car, a '92 Firebird...even though it was a V6, thats the only car that ive owned that i actually miss...bought it in '98 with 40,000 miles, had every available option except Ttops, and was red with black int.
after owning it for 3 months, the bolts that held up the EGR thing broke, and when i called a Pontiac parts department, they said that was too strange, so they looked up my VIN and found out it was completely totalled before....so after one threat of a lawsuit the used car dealership i bought it from, gave me every penny back and looked for another 3rd gen for me
sorry for the long sob story
