How do i remove the **** from the tranny shift lever? I want to take apart my center console. Thanks.

Oh, by the way, the car is an '87 IROC Z, TH700-R4

Are you talking about the handle with the button on it?
If so, there is a u shaped clip on the front (towards the radio pod) of the **** itself. You can feel it with your fingers....

I usually use a pair of needle nose pliars or a small screwdriver to pry it away from the handle. It pulls straight out from there!

O yea, Dont lose the plastic rod-like thingy from the inside of the shaft....
