Weld at home or shop floor pans?
Weld I have some small spots in floors about 6" thinking of cutting out and weld in some metal
But looking at lowes it will be several hundred to just get a welder tools cutter etc
For this small job and gonna have good body shop pair anyway it seems even for $100 a floor pan welded in by a pro it is cheaper the. Home
I am in apt and not doing a lot of welding that I need it. Rather spend on engine parts

A few things to weigh out here. Foremost, your skill level, are you confident you can do this? How much will the shop charge to do this? If you can do it yourself and have the tools afterwards for about the same cost go for it. Will you need a welder in the future? Owning and restoring a 20 - 30 year old car, probably so. Can't make the decision for you, only you know what you can do.

you arent going to get a welder that is worth a crap for a few hundred let alone 100. and it will take some practice before you can weld sheet metal. but if you want to learn and want to be able to do things in the future the pans are not going to be seen so its not a bad thing to practice on.
