84 Trans am hood to cowl weatherstrip

Mine was removed when it was repainted before I bought it so I just bought a new one to put in. I'm assuming it goes on the cowl as opposed to attaching to the hood, right? There are holes in the weatherstrip like it should be clipped on or screwed on but I don't see any holes for them to get clipped into. Does the 84 just get glued on with weatherstrip adhesive? Also, the weatherstrip is kind of "C" shaped to give you access to the holes I mentioned so when it's installed does it matter which direction the opening faces? Any help would be great. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it attaches to the underside of the hood. You'll see a ridge running along the rear edge of the hood with holes in it. It matches the contours of the cowl.

Never thought of checking the hood. Other old cars I had had it attached to the cowl. Hopefully it's not there or else I'll be selling a new hood to cowl seal on the site. Thanks for the info!

Yes, the hoods are fairly unique on these cars. Most cars, old and new, have the seal on the cowl.
